Digi 002 and Digi 002 Rack Hardware Exchange Program

Digidesign is pleased to announce the availability of Hardware Exchanges to Digi 002 and Digi 002 Rack for
registered owners of Digi 001, Mbox, and Digi ToolBox/Audiomedia III.

Digi 002 and Digi 002 Rack Hardware Exchange Program
The new Digi 002/Digi 002 Rack Hardware Exchange program provides the opportunity for
registered owners of Digi 001, Mbox, and Digi ToolBox/Audiomedia III to exchange up to a 96 kHzcapable,
FireWire-based Digi 002 or Digi 002 Rack recording system. Digi 002 and Digi 002 Rack
feature 8 channels of analog I/O (with 4 mic pres), 10 channels of digital I/O, and built-in MIDI I/O.
Additionally, the Digi 002 includes an integrated control surface with 8 touch-sensitive, motorized
faders, and 8 motion-sensitive rotary encoders. The Digi 002 Rack includes the same I/O capabilities
as Digi 002, but in a 2U enclosure.

Registration Required
The customer’s hardware must be registered with Digidesign in order to qualify for the Hardware
Exchange. Digidesign cannot accept exchange orders for customers who are unable to provide
registration via original registration card, dated dealer sales receipt, or a transfer of ownership form.
Gear Return
Original hardware MUST be returned to Digidesign within 30 days of exchange. Customers will
receive a letter from Digidesign shortly after receiving their Hardware Exchange at their registered
address. This letter will provide a Return Authorization number and Digidesign’s shipping address and
UPS account number to send back their gear at no cost. Failure to return the original hardware will
result in that customer’s ineligibility for future software updates and other services from Digidesign.
Dealers will not be held accountable for return of equipment to Digidesign. Customers may also
contact Digidesign at 888.636.3444, and we can provide them with this information.
Customers should disregard instructions on the Digi 002 “Wanted/Reward” flyers that
state “The product you are trading in… should be given to your dealer at the time you
pick up your Digi 002 system”. Please see above for correct return instructions.

Q: Where should gear returns be sent?

Q: Where is the RMA number?
A: An RMA number will be included on the invoice and packing slip that will be included with the
customer’s Digi 002 or Digi 002 Rack Hardware Exchange. The RMA number will also be
included on the letter that is sent to your customer by Digidesign shortly after they receive their
Hardware Exchange. Digidesign can also provide this information by calling 888.636.3444.

Q: How long does the customer have to return the gear?
A: The older hardware must be returned to Digidesign within 30 days of the customer receiving their
new hardware.
Q: What if the customer’s previous system is not received within 30 days after receiving
their Digi 002 or Digi 002 Rack Hardware Exchange?
A: The customer will be ineligible for future software updates and other services from Digidesign
until the gear return is resolved.
