Toca is proud to announce Origins Series Djembes, new hand drums featuring a motif that honors the tribal heritage of the djembe. Made in four sizes, Origins Djembes are hand-crafted from a single piece of plantation-grown mahogany. The interior of each drum employs additional lathing and carving that help eliminate unwanted overtones. Origins Series Djembes are fitted with a traditional rope-tuning mechanism, a natural goatskin head and a "tribal mask" finish.

"The djembe has a lineage that traces back to the beginnings of music itself," claims Victor Filonovich, Director of Product Development for Toca. "With the Origins Series, we applied current drum-making techniques to produce a superb sound, while creating a finish that honors the long heritage of the djembe."
