ShadowStand - Sculpture that thinks it’s a Guitar Stand

On stage, in the studio or livingroom… And now even outdoors, these new guitar stands from the design studio of MBK3 are masterpieces of artful simplicity.

The beauty of this new approach goes beyond merely improving the aesthetics of the “presen- tation” it offers an increase in stability that simply is not found in typical tripod stands.
The YardStick of course is yet another story.

This new series of stands began with the ShadowStand. Beautifully formed from a single piece of ½” solid steel it represents a dramatic and artful milestone in guitar stand design.

Guitars seem to float in space when placed on a ShadowStand and they are held properly and securely. Luthiers worldwide agree the proper way to display a guitar is to suspend it by the headstock, this reduces the structural stress overall and the instrument will remain more true and hold its tune for a longer period of time.

Whether rubber or foam, the synthetics used on stands in the past have proven to stain many guitar finishes over time.

A Shadow Stand utilizes a cushioned garment-grade leather headstock cradle to eliminate any synthetics at the critical point of contact.

The ShadowStand Series was featured in The South Bend Regional Museum of Art in the show: Design = Access + Ecology. The Stands met the show’s specific criteria of products which display "creative and responsible use of material in both form and function". The ShadowStand is available in three flavors:

SA: Acoustic Dreadnaught Guitars
SE: Solid Body Electrics with Symmetrical Headstocks (PRS, Les Paul etc.)
SF: As SE but Asymmetrical (e.g. Stratocaster/Telecaster)
