They say history doesn't repeat itself; we beg to differ. Just like the original circa 1963, the Silvertone 1478 offers a unique sound and playing experience that will inspire you to express yourself the same way as the rock icons that played the originals did.

The philosophy behind the Silvertone Classic line is to respect the original vintage designs, while improving on previous manufacturing limitations through modern engineering, parts, craftsmanship and most importantly, the opinions of modern guitar players . So, what did we change?
The offset double cutaway body is made of solid Mahogany with a maple top, for a deep rich tone with top end bite. The genuine Bigsby® tremolo and adjustable steel bridge mean faultless intonation and better string attack - an improvement over the rosewood bridge and antiquated tremolo system on the original. We also paid special attention to the neck profile (we thought it best to actually give it a profile versus a table leg!), improving it with a modern C-shape, as well as coupling it to the body with a newly engineered neck joint system for longer sustaining notes. The individual machine heads are another improvement over the original - the results which both you and your audience will appreciate.
